Transform Your Future

with Career and Technical Education
Triangle Arrow

Career and Technical Education (CTE) is a modern approach to higher education and training, and it can accelerate your personal and professional success. CTE is a fast, affordable way to prepare for a variety of fulfilling, stable careers with mid- to high-wage potential. With CTE, students quickly acquire skills through real-world, hands-on experience close to home, or at any one of Florida’s 47 technical colleges and 28 state colleges.

So, whether you’re looking to learn basic skills to enter the workforce, launching a new career or reimagining your future, let us help you Get There.

Career Pathways

Learn a new skill, become an entrepreneur, or get a job and continue your education while stacking your credentials into an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s or beyond.

1 Choose Your Path

The first step is aligning your interests with a career pathway and choosing from hundreds of programs available. CTE programs build a strong foundation for a mid- to high-wage job – and you will get there faster and affordably as many programs are designed to be 20 weeks or less.

Helping You Get There

Looking to get your GED or learn basic skills like reading, writing, math or English? We can help, too. No matter where you are in your journey, there is something and somewhere for everyone.

2 Connect Your Path

The second step is connecting with your local Florida College System institution or technical college to get enrolled. With little to no barriers to enrollment, you can get started and complete your education and training in weeks, not years.

"I’ve gotten three certifications – the safety certification, the steering suspension and electrical. Doing this in high school is a benefit because I don’t have to pay for classes until I get to technical school. I enjoy the hands-on work. And my instructor is always encouraging and makes the class enjoyable. Everything that he does, I just pick up so quickly."

“I was 31, doing mediocre work. What inspired me to go back was my son, Noah. Now that I know better, I would definitely encourage someone to pursue either a certificate class or a two-year degree. You don’t necessarily have to start in a four-year program to get the same skills, knowledge and salary to work in a STEM career.”

"Working in a warehouse was a job. I feel like a job is for somebody coming straight out of high school. A career is your life. I wanted to change my life. I wanted my two children to see better for me. With my diploma and my training, I see my future, and I see everything coming toward me. This is really it now."
